Bwahaha! First! (maybe)…
Adults support backup dads, too? I suppose that only makes sense…
He is the only one in town with a backup dad. Secretly, they’re jealous and trying to find their own backup dads.
hahahaha that’s funny, but im a little confused…! who was responsible for the lightning and/or who were those on the hill during the flash???
argh now i have to wait!!
I think they might be a group of characters from a recent comic. Hmm… I’ll have to investigate.
That comment that Baldur was trying to “steal Thor’s Thunder” is classic, especially given that Thor is a Thunder God. Stealing a Thunder God’s Thunder is basically the equivalent of stealing his power.
It also sounds like either Thor is beginning to manifest his primary powers, or Hel and the Valkyries are following him.
In any case, (cue creepy organ) dun, dun, DUUNN.
I originally had a “dun dun dun” sound effect in the lightning panel, but pulled it out because I though it looked too cheesy.
To be honest, it would look “cheesy” in that panel unless it could be incorporated into the thunder “sound effect”. The “dun Dun DUUUNNNN” works better as a straight auditory effect usually.
What is interesting is that Thor actually picked up that the thunderstorm was unusually short. He is the one that is usually oblivious to such things. Hod, Loki, Hermod, Sif, and the others would realize it immeidately, and each would make their own preparations in their own style. Thor, however, is about as dense as his hammer.
Mark Sebree
If it would have been anything other than a thunderstorm, he would have remained oblivious… thunder’s his thing. He was oblivious while it was going on though and didn’t notice until after it was all over.
My vote is for Hel.
Thor seems awfully little to be going through puberty. I mean, he still thinks girls are icky!
And poor Balder, totally ignored.
Back-up dads are cool.
Thor’s very eager for puberty… that’s when he’s supposed to get his growth spurt and he’s been waiting for that to happen.
I noticed the pub is called the Hog’s Head.
Did Thor just walk through Hogsmeade?
If you hadn’t noticed, Seth throws in fun little extras like that all the time.
I did not think of Harry Potter for that one. I thought of the ORIGINAL meaning of hogshead. It is a unit of usually liquid measure, most often referring to casks of alcoholic beverages like wine, ale, and cider. A hogshead is roughly equivalent to 2 barrels of liquid, or 63 US Gallons of wine, and 54 gallons of beer or ale. Note that the exact measurement does change depending on the year of “standardization” and what was stored in it. US Southern plantations in the 1800s also used the word hogshead as a unit of measure for sugar.

This meaning, large amounts of beer, ale, and wine, fits perfectly with a pub.
I suspect it’s Hel and the Valkries. If you look at the lightning on the hill, it has a decidedly feminine shaping…
And everything went a little green when that lightning flashed…
hehehe Thor looks so happy!! Hmm… maybe i should get a backup dad too, i’m definetely jealous of his sudden popularity hehehe
and the thunder storm was a very dun dun DUNNN moment lol
