Thank you for the update. I know it couldn’t have been easy to write. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this webcomic, especially since Norse Mythology is my favorite Mythology, and so I have continued to check back almost every day. I look forward to the completion of this story arc, but I understand that real life and many other things come first. Thank you so much for the fun times and great stories, and I wish you all luck on your future projects.
As you can probably guess, I’ve always been a big fan of the Norse, which is why I put so much into this. Thanks for reading.
Treasure them when they’re with you. Remember them fondly when they’re gone.
It works for both friends and web comics.
Thanks for the good times.
I like that saying. Thanks for being there for the good times.
Very sad, I’ve been a fan for a long time. Good luck to you guys with whatever you do next.
Thanks for the luck and thanks for being a long-time fan. We really do appreciate all our fans, which is what made this really tough.
Saw it coming. Shame, but I’m not shocked at all.
Between you guys, Applegeeks (Who are still delaying the inevitable) and MegaTokyo (Fred’s wife and cancer=few comics for a VERY good reason), we’ve seen a significant die-off of comics that don’t suck.
Too bad there are so many that do. Either way, good luck guys.
Thanks for lumping us into the category of comics that don’t suck. Seth and I talked at length about it and tried to think of ways to get back to it… but most would have caused the quality to suffer and we didn’t want to do that. Things may change in the future, but I didn’t want to leave our readers hanging forever.
And I’m working on getting another webcomic out there. It’s one I’ve been tinkering with in my sparse spare time for a few years now.
So… does “indefinite hiatus” mean there’s a chance you’ll be starting it up again (after this storyline is done) or “this is the last storyline, then the end?”
We’re still proud of the work we did here, so there’s always a chance we could come back to it someday… we’ll have to see how it goes. I’ll still be working on the trades (and I have some new t-shirt designs to put out there… we have a serious lack of Balder t-shirts), so there are some things to look forward to.
Yeah, what Jim said. Thanks for the ride!
I will miss you greatly, and i will buy the trades when funding allows. Thanks for all your hard work!
I feel like I’ve just lost a friend. But, honestly understand. I’ll miss you. Good luck, and thank you for making such a brilliant comic.
I think I speak for all when we say that we understand. We all love and treasure this comic, we love the characters there, but because of that we care about their creators. We want you guys to be happy and have a good life just as much as Thor, Hod, Balder, or any of the others. (Even Odineye.) We hope that all goes well in everything you do, and that your life may be more enjoyable for you in the future. good luck, guys.
Waaaahh. I’m gonna miss this, guys.
I’m sad to hear the news because I love the comic a lot. I understand that you guys have to do what’s best for you, Rest assured, I’ll follow you other stuff, because you guys are great.
Aw
sorry to see you guys go. I have to say, though it was done quite often in this comic, the “beat the tar out of Balder” gag never really got old. I’m gonna miss that most of all.
Hope life smooths out a bit for you guys so you can come back and have him be eaten by monsters again someday. Till then, good luck to you, and thanks for the laughs
Maan, this was one of my favourites, as I really like norse mythology, and you guys just shaped it hilarously. Good luck to you all in your projects, hopefully one day we’ll see more of Brat-Halla.
Really sad to see this webcomic go it has definitely been on of my favorites through the years. I hate when amazing webcomics go away, but understand that life hapens :(. I’ll be wishing you guys the best in your upcoming projects!
I’m devastated . . . but not surprised.
Jeff, Seth, and Anthony: I want to thank you guys for everything you’ve put into Brathalla. It’s been a great ride, and one of my favorite webcomics.
Best wishes with the new projects. I’ll check them out . . . I’m sure they will be good.
Sad to see a great story like this let go. I had recently found this amazing comic, so it feels almost like it’s still brand new to me… but I do understand that it’s actually a good number of years in the making. Thank you for an awesome job creating this comic, for bringing an old theme to light with a new look, and may it someday live again. But do take care of yourselves, for real life is much more important than a virtual one.
Bright blessings, and may you all have a seat in Valhalla reserved for you for when that far off time comes LOL!
This was a great webcomic and i admit im sad to see it go…
thank you for making the comic, it was hilarious
Quote the King of Hybrazil: This is not happening!
Yes, from Erik the Viking.
I think I’ll go plunder a city just to relieve the pain of it all…
Sigh, I will miss you guys, as I have for the past months!
I wish you all the best, and will be following you’re new projects :3
I really love this webcomic, it combined some of my favourite things ever, mythology, comics, humor and over all amazing characters and stories!
i will remember it forever!
Take care of yourselves and ur family!
Lots of Love,
Filipa
Well, poo – I’d only just discovered this webcomic, too … I can understand about the reasons why B-halla is being put to bed (can’t help but hope that maybe it’ll come back!)
Til then, best of luck in your new projects … I’ve got a LOT of reading to catch up on; this is giving me plenty to learn from, as far as the comic construct (paper, web, or otherwise) is concerned!
Take Care,
Charlotte
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! I literally found this comic a few days ago, fell in love with it, found it hilarious, and now I find out your not continueing it? This makes me sad. I hope someday you will be able to continue it.
WHAT IN THE 9 WORLDS ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT” THE DEATH OF THOR”……..YA’LL KILLED THOR? WHY IN THE NAME OF THE GODS WOULD YOU DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT? AND WHEN?
I DEMAND ANSWERS OR I WILL FIND YOU AND FEED YOUR ENTRAILS TO MY GOATS!!!!!!!!!!
Love the comic by the way, got me thru a entire season on the Equator without sacrificing anybody to Aegir, have the trade and the THOR hoodie and t-shirt and I wear them proudly, can’t wait for the rest of the trades to come out……any dates planned.
I understand how life can get in the way of doing something that you love doing, just want ya’ll to know, you have a loyal and supporting fan and if ya’ll ever get the chance to continue, please let me know.
Now please bring Thor back or I will have to send you Hel :).
have a great day
Nemo
Have you ever thought about charging us :)?
Any chance of a text block finish to this storyline? That would be sweet, a nice coda.
11 days, and I’m all caught up … what a great ride! I especially loved the relatively-loose comps of the earlier storylines – just gorgeous!
Again, do take care and best of luck to you, yours, and your current projects … I do hope that the fates are kind enough to gift us all with some more Brat-halla, in the future!
Oh I’m going to miss this comic so much. This comic inspired me to write my first Norse story and helped me get out of my depression of losing so many friends and family.
I jus wanna say you guys have gotten me through two tours in iraq. i haven’t always been able to read regularly, but your’s is one of the few webcomics that i never forget about, no matter how many times i kill my laptop and have to find all the ones i kept up with. >.> this’d be past the 10th time i’ve wandered back and went “ok…what were all those comics i loved again?” good luck to you all and thank you for a wonderful story.
Miss new updates. Is there any word as to IF/WHEN you guys are bringing Brat-hala back…?
