How do I switch from technical writing and working on other serious forms of literature (I’ll finish that great American romance novel someday) to get ready to work on comedy projects like Brat-halla? Via the not-very-secret art of seriousness-less. In other words, I do something to drive out the serious side of my personality… something to remind me to cut loose and have fun.
I keep various movies, video clips, songs, and books on standby to help with this. As a long-time RPG gamer, here’s one I always seem to go back to for some good laughs… College Saga.

Jeff, I’m a technical writer too (among other things) and I’m writing my own Great American Novels… *grin* I like the way you’re thinking in terms of making the necessary shift. You inspire me–you and all the folks that work on Brat-Halla and the other Projects. Keep doing what you’re doing, and best of fortune!
@Jasta – Usually the shift is pretty easy for me, but on the days it feels like a struggle, I’m glad I have a plan in place to help out.
Wow, that was really entertaining. Thanks for sharing!
