Yep, all three of us were interviewed by Eliza over at Xcentrikz. It was a fun interview and if you’ve ever been curious to find out more about the creators behind Brat-halla, now’s your chance to crawl inside our minds (that’s not meant to be taken literally).
HOD DIES???!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
*cries lots*
I had a bad enough day yesterday (enough to shovel a bucket of ice cream down my gullet) and then you hand me THIS? Gee, thanks guys. I’m crawling back into bed now and I’m not coming out ever again.
Hod better be more powerful dead than he is alive I tell you! Humph.
Either that or you better bring in Frey pronto before I get really PO’d. >.<
Okay, all kidding aside, that interview was very cool. A friend of mine and I are working on starting up a webcomic for our failed attempt at getting syndicated many years back. We decided to give it a try and the appeal for both of us was that we could now go places we never could with a syndicated strip. I’ve been doing a bit of research for the time being (we plan to launch January 2010) and have been going around to my favourite and more professional type webcomics to see what works and what doesn’t, what their creators have to say, so this inteview was a bit timely. I got quite a bit out of it, believe it or not.
Two things I especially got out of not only the interview but the site itself is you all take the webcomic seriously despite it being a free webcomic. In other words, you are professional about it (to be very honest, I get really annoyed by certain webcomic creators who use the “it’s a free comic, I don’t have to treat it seriously because I’m not getting paid to do it” and other extremely unprofessional tactics – and then later complain that no one takes them seriously when they try to take their work further) , and you also treat the fans/readers of the comic with a lot of respect. You update the status of the site when there are going to be delays, you respond to them in a positive way and even periodically get their opinions on the direction of the comic, merchandise options and/or just fun stuff.
And most of all, you love what you’re doing. It comes out in the artwork, the writing, the way you respond to readers, and very much so in the interview.
And of course, the quality of your webcomic is just stellar. One of the best out there. It has to see print in the future because I’ve decided that I’d be buying a minimum of four copies of it. One for me, one for mum, one for dad and one for a friend who is really into all things Norse and also follows this webcomic.
IS Hod dead? Because Hel was dead, until she wasn’t.
These are gods were talking about…. I’m not convinced he’s dead by any means.
