Most pantheons have their own distinct way of doing things.

Note for those who might be wondering: the kids turned to stone in the first panel are the Ao–the thirteen kids of the Polynesian god of winds/storms, Tawhiri. They each represent a type of wind or cloud. I’ve theorized there might have been fourteenth at one time, but no one wanted to worship the "breaking" wind.
“I’ve theorized there might have been fourteenth at one time, but no one wanted to worship the “breaking” wind.”
Ouch.
Well, now they’re wind breakers.
I’m sure the assessers are hoping those are jötunn sandwiches.
ah you’ve gone for the more modern image of a gorgon rather than the tradition more human one. can’t blame you. wings of bronze are nice and all but have a snake lower half must kick ass
Accounts of Gorgons vary so much… they had wings… they didn’t have wings… there were three of them… they all had snakes for hair… only Medusa had snakes for hair cause she was cursed for gettin’ it on in Athena’s temple… and so on. So, Seth wisely went with the image most people would recognize.
So, who ARE those three women with the Greek team?
My guess, the Sirens (New diety teen pop supergroup ala Jonas Brothers or Miley Cyrus
).
My ten-year-old son turned me on to this comic. He’s a huge fan of Norse, Greek, and Roman mythology. Thanks for keeping him interested in reading in an age where kids mainly rock video games.
Well, tell your son “Thanks” from us for being a reader and for bringing a new reader in. We appreciate that a lot.
And on a side note, I was also a big fan of mythology at that age too. Luckily, I still am.
I like how the all you can eat buffet has now been cancelled… so did Thor go in once or did they just see him coming and close down in advance (grin)?
I could answer that, but it may or may not be revealing future a future subplot point that was just added because Anthony was having fun with the posters on the wall (and I enjoyed it so much I re-did the dialogue in the panel so it didn’t get covered up).
Give me an empty space and I’ll have some fun with it!
In a couple of older strips you’ll find “posters” for some of Jeff’s, Seth’s and my own comic books and other little bits and bobs.
I just though, seeing as the brats STILL were eating, that it would be a good poster to put up! I know I’d put up a notice like that myself!

Awww, c’mon, with the number of deities that have bottomless appetites out there, surely it wasn’t *just* Thor’s fault?
Five words:
“Everything in the cupboard sandwiches.”
(Brathalla #13, Godsco pt 1).
There are five winds, the North wind, South wind, East wind, West wind, and of course the Hoo Past wind.
