Sometimes when I think too deeply about this strip versus the old tales, I just want to shake Odin and Frigg. Hodur deserved love too! And without him, the end of time would seriously suck…
Besides–your Hod is just MADE OF AWESOME and he’s cute, too. *huggles the Hod*
I agree that Hod is great. I actually think that he is the best of them all. I just wish I could see some of the things he misses…
Not the naked ladies, pervert, I think it would have been funny to see Thor and the rest forced to be female. Curse his foul blindness!
Talk about coming to a fight with no ammunition. This does not even rank with coming to a gun fight armed with a knife, since Thor does not come across as being that sharp.
I used to pull stuff like this on my own brother all the time. It was so easy to distract him when he was trying to be a little s**t.
Thor isn’t a terribly bright fellow (much like the Thor of Norse Mythology – who seemed to think more with his brawn than with his brain). I wonder if he’ll ever get the better of Hod.
Well, maybe, you actually see in one episode that Thor does have the ability to make some sort of plans when Hod wins the log toss and Thor gets the idea that he should get vengence.
Perhaps Thor’s mind becomes slightly sharper when powered by vengence…
He would make an excellent villian if this were so. Too bad he is one of the good guys.
Oh, Thor has the ability to think things through, he’s just not terribly consistent about it. There are some examples of Norse Mythology Thor getting the better of someone by using his brain, but there are many more where he’s used his brawn instead.
Hod seems to be the other way around, even in Norse Mythology. He was incredibly strong, and the other gods were somewhat afraid of him, but he was damned smart and, being blind, he had to be. Unfortunately he wasn’t smart enough to realise what Loki was up to where Balder was concerned.
Yep, Thor’s a big fan of the brawn approach. There’s usually less thinking involved and the consequences of “act first, think later” are usually more glorious battles to fight in.
The only way Thor is gonna work as a villian is if there’s some sort of Alternatre Reality Thor going on here…I mean, he’s the “people’s god”!
And there’s just something appealing about Thor blundering his way through the lands, slaughtering giants, and beating up baddies, and getting into honest and funny trouble via Loki that would just not work if he was evil.
Nah, Evil Thor will not work. At least not in this reality.
Standard Mjollnir or were you gonna use the Brat-halla one? (cause I could probably get you a high resolution version of the Brat-halla one to print out as a reference)
OMG squee, I just adore Hod…but then I suspect you all know that by now. *grins* “Look, Food!” and Hod just KNOWS… lol…
Poor Thor. heh heh heh….
Really? You like Hod? How come you never told us?
*giggles* You silly man…

Y a never know… some of Hod’s adventures in his comics could spill over into one of the main storylines.
Thor battling Hod in a battle of wits and will.

Yeah; More like coming to a gunfight with a toothpick.
Poor Thor, no guy can resist food, I can get most of my guys friends to do anything for me just telling them I’ll give them a cookie for it!!!
btw HAPPY 2ND FRIDAY THE 13TH!!!!! WOOT!!
Did you know that the Brat-halla RSS feed had 666 readers on Friday the 13th? Out of all the strange coincidences…

He’s still young… I’m sure he’d be smarter and wiser if he could take action without the thinking slowing him down.

Thor as a villain? Hah! That’ll… uhhh… probably… never happen. *rips a few pages of notes about evil Thor out of his notebook*

Hmmm. I wonder what a Brat-Halla Beta Ray Bill might be like…
Ooo… Beta Ray Billy-boy.
I had a plan that could have worked for Evil Thor, but it’s too late now. Destroyed the evidence… err… notes.
Gods I love thor ^^ even getting myself mjollnir tattoed this thursday, btw awesome comic, hope to see much more =)

Would love this tee shirt: Hod and his thought bubble about Thor’s attention span.
